The Eleventh Day Of Artsy

It's the Eleventh Day of Artsy and my true love brought to me...

Jewelry from H. Monique Designs in a bowl from Ceramics by Matthew deWolff Ahlers.  Sometimes things come in pairs, and this artistic duo is no exception.  With Heather's amazing talent in silver jewelry creation and Matt's magic with the pottery wheel, their table will be brimming with exciting pieces for your true love too! Each artist takes their inspiration from the world around them, and uses their emotions and surroundings to create.

It wouldn't be a true display of all the amazing talents that Maine has to offer if we didn't venture into the food creations. And every true love deserves something to keep them sweet! Seaflour will be the perfect stop!  Stacie Blouin Grondin, hailing out of Phippsburg, created this dessert studio that provides an extraordinary, delectable addition to all your special events and holiday celebrations. It's a pleasure for her to work directly in the client/chef collaboration. Seaflour's objective is to transform your festive ideas into memorable edible art. The Tenth Day of Artsy!

It's the Tenth Day of Artsy Affair, and my true love got for you...

A HighWire Handmade from Sophia Sarno! Always learning from her father, she was taught to look up when she walks. That's where she find birds and wires, open skies, clouds and lots of inspiration. Then  translating the colors, lines and atmosphere seen above, into her jewelry. This season sees an expansion of the High Wire Handmade watercolor pendants with new rings and earrings to the collection. Sophia sticks to what makes them special, and crafts each piece from an original, tiny painting. Her favorite gifts have always been the small, unique ones made with love, and she hopes to help fill some stockings with just that!

And don't forget the smaller true love on your holiday list! Lily Pad Designs is happy to be launching Thimbleberry Dolls at Artsy Affair this year.  These dolls are unique soft dolls, each with a different old fashioned name with a modern look.  Special orders can be placed to have specific hair color, hair style, facial expressions and dress color as well as naming a special doll for your special child.  Plus their holiday decor favorites of wreaths and needle felted ornaments, jewelry and home goods, Erin & Carrie will have something for everyone on your list!

The Ninth Day of Artsy

It's the Ninth Day of Artsy and my true love brings to me...

Some bath & body products from Sweet Mojo Apothecary! Started about the same time as the idea of Artsy Affair was born, these two ladies bring the sweet scents of nature to scrubs, oils and soaks.  Does your sweetie deserve a little pampering this year? Then be sure to stop by and stock up on the apothecary needs for your mini spa at home!

Then continue your stroll over to Earth Tones & Fishbones where you will find local Brunswick Artist Catherine Worthington and her amazing quilted pieces that transform into belts, bags, cards and pillows.  Starting with and idea or photo and transforming it into a keepsake through first creating fabrics using textile paints on canvas or cotton, then incorporating a variety of surface design techniques.  She then collages the fabrics together to make a composition that will often start with just a few strips of color.  When satisfied with the composition she'll then machine quilt the pieces using free motion stitching which allows her to draw with her sewing machine.  Catherine uses various colors and types of threads and often adds hand stitching or embellishes with embroidery floss  to add even more detail. These pieces must be seen to be appreciated.

Hard to believe Artsy Affair is just days away!

And on the Fourth Day of Artsy

On this Fourth Day of Artsy my true love brought to me...

A spot to sit with my lovely... Thanks to Penobscot Bay Porch Swings, each of us can take a moment and relax with a loved one. The idea of Penobscot Bay Porch Swings was first conceived of in May 2001 on a sparkling spring day while on the porch of a classic Maine summer cottage.  Penobscot Bay Porch Swings has since then created a colorful and contemporary version of the much loved sailor’s hammock.  But that is not all that this group has to offer attendees of Artsy Affair.  A few years ago a new creation of canvas buckets based on the traditional sea buckets used on sailing vessels was introduced to the community and knitters, collectors and others flocked to have one for themselves. Be it a ditty bag, a wine bottle carrier, knitting bag, or even a swing will make your sweetheart happy.

And a place to write my memories...with Purplebean Bindery on board, some of her suggestions include filling your books with haiku about the weather, guest signatures, well-wishes, girly phone messages, cribbage scores, gourmet dinner plans, cupcake recipes, family stories, elaborate schemes, fantastical sketches, a travel journal, garden notes, bedtime stories, squirrelly love poems, devious notations, elf dreams, grocery lists, the next great American short story, things you've overheard, important scraps of paper, guest lists, directions, bird sightings, vacation land exploits, posts too personal for facebook, paint swatches, doodles, to do lists, philosophy, photography, hyperbole.  Stockings or wooden shoes could use one or two of these stuffed in for their recipients.

Lots of good things coming, so hold the date- November 10th 5pm to 9pm
